For movies and series, Filmkompass shows which streaming service carries them in Germany and keeps your titles in a list of your own. The app is for iPhone and iPad and uses the same data as the Streamer web tool on gtools.me. In the web tool you enter your own free TMDB key once per device; the app needs none. The app itself is in German.
Filmkompass does not play movies or series. It only shows where a title is available; you watch it with the respective service.
What you can do with Filmkompass:
- “Neu” (new): what is new on your services in the last 14 days
- “Beliebt” (popular): this week’s popular movies and series
- “Suche” (search): find titles, also by IMDb or TMDB number
- save titles to “Meine Liste” (my list) with “Merken”; tabs “Weiterschauen”, “Nicht angefangen” and “Alles gesehen”
- tick off episodes and seasons as watched for series (with “Rückgängig”, undo) and see where to continue
- choose “Meine Dienste” (my services); in “Beliebt” use “Nur meine Dienste” to see only your own offer; the choice also applies in the web tool
- see per title whether it is included in a subscription, for rent or for sale, and jump to the service with “Jetzt anschauen”
- work offline: changes are transferred at the next sync
- overview of signed-in devices, sign out single devices
- no tracking, no advertising, no analytics SDKs
Requires iOS or iPadOS 17 or later and a G-Tools account.
Filmkompass needs a G-Tools account; your list is kept in your account and is back after signing in on any device. Sign in with email address and password or, if provided for your account, with “Mit Microsoft anmelden”. New accounts are created by me: write to info@gtools.me.

This product uses TMDB and the TMDB APIs but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB.
Data on movies and series (titles, descriptions, posters, “popular” lists, seasons and episodes) comes from The Movie Database (TMDB).
Streaming availability: JustWatch. Where a title is available in Germany is provided by JustWatch through TMDB. The app shows “Streaming-Angaben: JustWatch” with every title; “Alle Angebote bei JustWatch” leads to the title’s overview.

No tracking, no ads, no analytics SDKs in the app. Your list is stored in your G-Tools account on my server; the app asks TMDB for movies, series and streaming availability through gtools.me and loads posters directly from TMDB.
